What makes the iPhone 16 Pro different for this service?

• Rear cameras: 48MP Fusion, 48MP Ultra Wide and 12MP Telephoto (5x tetraprism).
• Front camera: 12MP TrueDepth with autofocus, part of the TrueDepth system that also handles Face ID.
• LiDAR Scanner: helps with low-light focus, Portrait mode and AR. It's a separate module from the cameras and can fail on its own.
• Camera Control: the side button that opens and adjusts the camera is a separate part. If it stops responding but the camera works, it's the button or its flex, not the camera module.
• Parts history: on iPhone 12 and later, including the iPhone 16 Pro, Settings > General > About lists the front and rear cameras. A non-genuine or unverified camera shows as "Unknown Part".
• The 16 Pro is the first smaller Pro iPhone with the 5x tetraprism telephoto (the 15 Pro had 3x), and its Ultra Wide went up to 48MP. None of its rear camera parts are shared with the 15 Pro.

How does camera service differ across the iPhone 16 line-up (2024–25)?

The iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max added the Camera Control button; the 16e did not. On models that have it, Camera Control is a separate part from the cameras and can fail on its own.

Pro models carry a telephoto camera and a LiDAR Scanner on top of the Wide and Ultra Wide, so there are more modules to test individually.
